This Privacy Policy describes how RupeePartner ("we") processes your information through our mobile application ("App"). We highly value user privacy, and all data is stored locally on your device by default.

1. Data Collection Principles

We adhere to the principle of "data minimization":

• Core accounting features require no permissions

• All permissions are optional and requested only for specific features

• All data is stored locally on the device by default

2. Optional Permissions

2.1 SMS/Phone Permissions (Fully Optional)

• Used only when you explicitly enable "Auto-Entry" for transaction recording

• Analyzes financial SMS content locally only

• No SMS content is uploaded to any server

• Can be disabled anytime in App settings

2.2 Contacts Permission (Fully Optional)

• Used only for quick selection of transaction members

• Processes contact information locally only

• Does not store or upload contact data

2.3 Location Permission (Fully Optional)

• Used only to tag transaction locations

• Uses approximate location (not precise GPS)

• Location data is saved only in local records

2.4 Camera Permission (Fully Optional)

• Used only for custom profile pictures

• Photos are stored locally only

• No automatic upload of any images

2.5 Installed Apps Permission 

• Used only to detect financial apps for enhanced auto-categorization

• Scans app package names locally only (no app usage data collected)

• Never uploads your app list to any server

2.6 Device Info 

• Purpose:

  • Ensure app compatibility and optimize performance across different devices.

  • Analyze crash reports and improve stability (e.g., linking errors to specific models).

• Data Security:

  • Information is anonymized and cannot be tied to individual identities.

  • Strictly adheres to privacy policies and is never used for unrelated purposes.

• Never uploads your device info to any server

3. Data Collected

3.1 SMS/Phone Permissions (Fully Optional)

When enabled for "Auto-Entry" feature, we collect:

• Merchant/business name from transaction SMS

• Transaction amount

• SMS timestamp

3.2 Contacts Permission (Fully Optional)

When enabled for transaction members, we collect:

• Contact name

• Phone number

3.3 Location Permission (Fully Optional)

When enabled for location tagging, we collect:

• Approximate location (city/province level)

3.4 Camera Permission (Fully Optional)

When enabled for receipts/profile pictures:

• Photos taken through the app

3.5 Installed Apps Permission

When enabled for smart categorization:

• Application name

• Package name (e.g., com.paytm)

• Installation date

• Last update date

3.6 Device Info

When enabled for smart categorization:

• OS Version

• Device Model

4. Data Storage & Security

• All accounting data is encrypted and stored locally by default

5. Data Sharing Policy

We strictly commit to:

• Never sell, trade, rent, upload, or share your personal data

• Never use accounting data for ad targeting

• All analytics are processed locally on the device

6. Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

• Revoke granted permissions individually

• Use core features completely anonymously

• All local data is permanently deleted upon clearing App data or uninstalling

7. Protection of Minors

We do not knowingly collect data from minors under 18. If identified, such data will be deleted immediately.

8. Policy Updates

8.1 We may update this policy periodically and will notify you via in-app notifications or other means.

8.2 You may also review the latest version of this policy in the app’s Privacy Policy section.

8.3 Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
